The Month Of Love

Hey Y'all - Time keeps slippin into the future as they say.  Here we are in 2014 and loving our geographic locale.  Everyone is doing swell and we want to wish you a very Happy Valentines Day!

We are finally settled in our new place.  There has been a lot going on with new school for Dylan and Marleigh in pre-school.  But for now I'll update you on All Hallows Eve!  We had a terrific Halloween with our new friends Kristen and her daughters Isabelle and Carolina trick or treating on Montana Ave.    

But one T&T outing was not enough for us... so off we went to our friends house in Venice.

 Captain Dylan wanted me to be a part of his pirate crew.  Arrrh..so I obliged him, matey.

 Marleigh was a super hero pirate princess (in case you couldn't tell just by lookin at her).

And Keith kept us all safe Busting Ghosts.  They didn't stand a chance with his inflatable Proton Pack. Said Keith ,"Bustin' makes me feel good."

Leaving Chicago

We left Chicago at the end of July.  It was a really lovely summer - we packed in lots of fun trips and activities.  Our last hurrah was a boat cruise up the Chicago river with some very good friends.  It was just our two families on a private boat, it was incredible!  And a perfect evening for sunset shots.

Keith was able to do one last show at Sylvie's bar and had a decent crowd.  It was fantastic.  His music is terrific and a nice combo of singer/songwriter folk and indie pop.

I miss my friend Beatriz - she had already moved to Chile by this time but she was coming for regular visits with was soo great!  Now I have to figure out how to get her to LA!

The kids loved playing at our friend Janet and Gavin's house.  It was less than a block from ours.  Marleigh was in preschool with Nicholas and Caitlin and she still says they are her best friends. 

Next year they are expecting to pass through LA with their newest addition along too!  I am already looking forward to it!

We had the best neighbors!  I will really miss them!! 

My friend Jenny and her husband Eric were are regular Friday night family date night.  It was so wonderful having them as friends.  We really miss them!

On our drive from Chicago to LA we had some great stops!  We stayed with Julie and her family in Colorado!

And even popped in to the pearl street mall in Boulder.  

After a bit more driving, a quick stop in Vegas...

We finally got to the beach in Santa Monica!

Beautiful Fall

Well - My favorite season here in Chicago is coming to a close, but we did get out on the most beautiful weekend and took some family photos! I hope everyone is enjoying the last throws of summer.

Meet Thunder PAWS

So we finally adopted a new dog - Dylan chose his name because he loves the name and we let him keep it because the dog looks like a superhero with that mask. Although, we do have a few other names under consideration, like Ranger (as in Lone), Archer, Kato (Green Hornet), Indy (do I need to explain?). But for now he's Thunder and he's 70% amazing and 30% Mr. Mischief. Like I told Keith, I should have known he had some type of neurosis when I fell in love with him at the shelter. But we'll get the dog in training and sort it all out. His main interest is in swallowing fabric items whole. Socks, washcloths, bib, any small piece of fabric will do. Thankfully he pukes them up and doesn't die from his clothing addiction. But I'm already tired of picking it up. You'd think he would learn after the first time - I mean, generally I avoid eating things that have made me boot for a very long time afterwards.

Well, here he is. Now you can see why he's already a part of the family - who wouldn't love that face.
